The up-coming Presidential Elections are being closely contested by a group of future presidents who are campaigning for the votes of the young electorate of the school. Following the format of the Presidential campaign in the country Mrs Doherty’s class are experiencing the challenge of running for president. Candidates put their names forward and have launched a campaign to win enough votes to reach the quota allowing them to stand as a candidate. Campaign posters have been placed in prominent positions throughout the school as the candidates bid to attract a vote. It is suspected that many false promises have been made to lure the voters but the young voters are very astute and are giving nothing away – it has even been suggested that some voters are not entirely truthful in divulging their voting preferences!!!
Well, the speeches were made to a noisy and eager electorate and voting is now closed, VOTES are in and the ballot box is securely stored in a safe place. The count is on – results will appear on this web-site as soon as all valid votes are counted.
Well done to all the participants – candidates, campaign team and supporters, not everyone will make it onto the election card in the first round but the battle isn’t over yet and who will pick up the transfers? Watch this space!
