Rocket Balloon Experiment

Ms. McGinley’s students enjoyed putting Newton’s Third Law of Motion to the test with rocket balloons. “For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.” As the air pressure inside the balloon is released it pushes against the outside air, and the outside air pushes back. This opposing force is called “thrust”, and propels the balloon forward.
