We are delighted to announce that our school website has been awarded the prestigious Scoilnet Star Site Award for December. The award recognises school who embrace the web as a communication tool. Well done to the students and staff for all their work in re-vamping our school website this year. We aim to make the school website user-friendly and up to date with events in our school and community. We are very proud of ourselves. Here’s what the judging panel had to say about our website:

Scoil Mochaomhóg Naofa’s website has simple design with excellent use of colour and a clean layout. The homepage contains a picture of the school building along with eight navigation tabs across the top of the page. There is also a welcome message from the school’s principal along with a links to other parts of the site and to useful websites on the right hand side of the page. We are delighted to see that Scoilnet has been included in the useful links section!
The site is contains a Latest News section which displays up to date information and events and happenings in the school in a blog style format. The posts are organised chronologically so users can scroll back through previous entries to find what they are looking for. The website also contains information on school staff and has a dedicated section on school policies. There is also an extensive section on the history of the school as well as a section for the Parent’s Association.
The school make excellent use of Google forms. Parents can fill in the digital form for absences of children and visitors to the site can also fill out a form when contacting the school. Each class in Scoil Mochaomhóg Naofa has they own section via the navigation panel on the right hand side of the homepage which provides information on activities such as the MS Readathon, visits to the library and football blitzes.
Scoil Mochaomhóg Naofa’s website is well maintained, kept up to date and is easy to navigate. The site reflects the hard work and dedication of the staff, pupils and parents and the welcoming and inclusive atmosphere within the school. Well done on winning Scoilnet’s Star Site award!”
