The Board of Management of Scoil Mochaomhóg Naofa wishes to inform you that:
The Child Safeguarding Statement is available on our ‘Policies’ page on our website or alternatively, from our school office.
Art Club resumed this week for the children of 1st, 2nd and 3rd Class. The children were working on the areas of paint, colour and printing. They created a heart just in time for Valentines!
Art Club finished today with a little party and certificates for the children’s participation and achievement. We had a wonderful 7 weeks that saw the children begin with Halloween themed printing, make pumpkin pom poms and spider webs. Throughout the weeks the children used salt dough, made fairy doors, created an all about me t-shirt and finally worked together to create a biodiversity themed display for all in our school to enjoy.
Best of luck to Kevin Ryan, Gemma and Lily Power who are performing in the Thurles Community Panto Society’s production of Sinbad this Christmas.
Week 3 of Art Club was all about ‘Me!’. The children wrote their name using a raised salt technique. They also began a t-shirt centered all around their likes and dislikes. They took great care when choosing images, words and colour.
Week 1 of After School Art Club was a great success! The children created Halloween themed silhouettes and started work on a spooky spider web. We are already looking forward to next week!
Another year has come to an end and we decided to record the moment with a class picture. The children insisted on including a few items that had a significant meaning to them . Some of these include a particular lunchbox, the egg picture, Lego creations , Fred the science model, the class phrase “Tóg go bog é” and Ms. Bohan’s coffee mug. It was a busy few months with the class working hard until the very end . However, we certainly had a lot of fun along the way and have made some great memories. Enjoy the holidays everyone !!
Wednesday certainly was a busy day for the school and we were thrilled to come away from Semple Stadium as Roinn D under 13 county champions. Our team showed incredible skill and determination to overcome an excellent Kilruane team and captain David Costigan capped off a remarkable year by winning cross country, football, soccer and hurling county titles with the school. Great credit is due to Morgan Lanigan for all his hard work coaching classes during the year.
