Under 13 football

Well done to our under 13 footballers who took part in a blitz in cashel last Friday. Unfortunately we didn’t qualify from the blitz as we were defeated by an excellent Ballylooby team and we wish them well in the next round. All our players, led by captain, Rory Heffernan, performed admirably on the day and had a terrific contest with Killenuale in the last match.

County Champions

Wednesday certainly was a busy day for the school and we were thrilled to come away from Semple Stadium as Roinn D under 13 county champions. Our team showed incredible skill and determination to overcome an excellent Kilruane team and captain David Costigan capped off a remarkable year by winning cross country, football, soccer and hurling county titles with the school. Great credit is due to Morgan Lanigan for all his hard work coaching classes during the year.

Sixth class Graduation

Congratulations to Sixth Class who had their graduation ceremony on Wednesday evening in the church. Thanks to Fr Fogarty for celebrating mass earlier in the day in the school and the Parents’ Association for hosting refreshments after the ceremony.

Primary Game

Huge congratulations to Tom, Lucy and Jack who represented the school in the Primary Game matches this year. It is a fantastic honor for the school to have had three sixth class students chosen for these matches. Well done.

Yesterday sixth class received their certificates and medals for their completion of the Junior Entrepreneur Programmer. Well done all!

5th and 6th classes had a great day in Dublin yesterday visiting Kilmainham Gaol, Millenium park, the National Aquatic Centre and McDonalds on the way home. Well done to everyone on making it a successful day.

CBS Visit

5th and 6th class boys had a very enjoyable day out in Thurles CBS on Thursday last. They took part in an event organized by Transition Year students as part of their Future Leasers initiative. The boys engaged in activities in Science, Music, Woodwork and PE. Thanks to the principal, Kathryn O Brien and the event coordinator, Eamon Buckley, for extending the invite to our school.

JEP

6th Class were in great spirits going home on Friday as they collected their profits from their successful business venture. Well done to all of 6th class for their hard work and dedication to the project and hopefully some will go on to be successful entrepreneurs in the future.
