Art Club

Art Club finished today with a little party and certificates for the children’s participation and achievement. We had a wonderful 7 weeks that saw the children begin with Halloween themed printing, make pumpkin pom poms and spider webs. Throughout the weeks the children used salt dough, made fairy doors, created an all about me t-shirt and finally worked together to create a biodiversity themed display for all in our school to enjoy.

3rd and 4th Art Term 3

This term the children studied the folk art of Maud Lewis and street art of Keith Harring . We also created some stunning Wigwam scenes using different fabrics and natural materials. Finally our studies on Italy and the Romans lent us to learning more about how to make mosaics and re-imagining activities the Mona Lisa would take up if she lived in our time. The children showed a real enthusiasm for art which is evident in their work this term.

GP Room Transformation Update

Our GP Room is looking better each week. We are working on a whole school initiative to improve the appearance of our GP Room through displaying the wonderful work we are doing in class.

Most recently, Junior and Senior Infants created the Red Hen display while 1st and 2nd Class exhibited their 3D colour exploration work.

Check back again to see updates of the transformation.

CBS Thurles Musical

4th to 6th Classes attended the matinee performance of the CBS production ‘Buddy’. The cast and crew put on a super production which was enjoyed by everyone here at Scoil Mochaomhóg Naofa. We wish the cast and crew every success for the remaining shows.

GP Room

We are continuing to work on our display areas in the GP Room. 3rd and 4th Class were learning about the Ancient Egyptians in class and they decided to work on this topic in Art. Their display is adding great colour to our GP Room. Well done girls and boys.
