Christmas Panto
Best of luck to Kevin Ryan, Gemma and Lily Power who are performing in the Thurles Community Panto Society’s production of Sinbad this Christmas.
Art Club
Week 3 of Art Club was all about ‘Me!’. The children wrote their name using a raised salt technique. They also began a t-shirt centered all around their likes and dislikes. They took great care when choosing images, words and colour.

CBS Visit
5th and 6th class boys had a very enjoyable day out in Thurles CBS on Thursday last. They took part in an event organized by Transition Year students as part of their Future Leasers initiative. The boys engaged in activities in Science, Music, Woodwork and PE. Thanks to the principal, Kathryn O Brien and the event coordinator, Eamon Buckley, for extending the invite to our school.
iPads donation from the PA
Thanks to the PA who purchased two iPads for our school recently. Monica Drohan, Ann-Marie Hayes and Anne O Doherty presented the iPads to Mr Ryan and the pupils this morning. The new iPads will play a central role in the implementation of our Digital Learning Plan.
Junior Entrepreneur Programme
Well done to 6th class who held a very successful showcase day in the GP room on Thursday. Their JEP project ‘Borris Bobble Buddies’ was an overwhelming success and nearly all of the 125 school hats that were ordered have been sold at this stage. 6th class would like to say a huge thank you to everybody who supported our business by contributing prizes, purchasing hats or supporting the raffle. We held the raffle on Friday morning and had many happy winners.
Share a book for World Book Day
Sixth class really enjoyed their opportunity to share a book with Junior and Senior Infants in the GP room today. Thanks to Ms Cussen for organizing this. Remember to take an opportunity to share a book at home with your child as part of World Book Day.
World Book Day
Next Thursday, 7th March is World Book Day and we would encourage all pupils to celebrate this day by engaging in some of the school activities and by making a greater effort to read at home and in school. All children have received a €1.50 World Book Day token which can be exchanged for one of the 11 special Book Day books or can be used as part payment for a book from the Setanta school catalogue.
Next Friday, 8th March, all children are invited to bring their favorite book character to life by dressing up for school. We will also have a competition for the best designs of book covers.
CBS Thurles Musical
4th to 6th Classes attended the matinee performance of the CBS production ‘Buddy’. The cast and crew put on a super production which was enjoyed by everyone here at Scoil Mochaomhóg Naofa. We wish the cast and crew every success for the remaining shows.
