Thanks to the PA who purchased two iPads for our school recently. Monica Drohan, Ann-Marie Hayes and Anne O Doherty presented the iPads to Mr Ryan and the pupils this morning. The new iPads will play a central role in the implementation of our Digital Learning Plan.
Grandparents Day 2019
We are celebrating Catholic Schools Week in our school each day this week. We had a fantastic turnout for our annual Grandparents Day today. We welcomed in excess of 50 grandparents into our school this morning. Thank you to each and every grandparent/relation that took the time to be with us this morning. Thanks to the wonderful PA for providing refreshments for everyone at today’s event – we couldn’t do it without you!
Our wonderful team of SNAs created the beautiful ‘Remembrance Tree’ display for the grandparents who have sadly passed away and could not be with us this morning. We remember them all in our thoughts and prayers.
Book Presentation
We were delighted to receive a €1500 contribution towards new guided readers for the senior classes from our Parents Association. Anne O Doherty, Chairperson of the PA, presented the books to the school this morning. We will enjoy many hours of reading. Thank you to everyone who supports the work of our fantastic PA.
RSE Review
The NCCA is the national advisory body on curriculum and assessment. The NCCA is currently accepting submissions on the teaching of Relationships and Sexuality Education (RSE) in primary and post-primary schools. If parents wish to provide feedback, please visit the link below and complete the online survey.
Online Absence Reporting Form
We encourage all parents/guardians to utilise our Online Absence Report Form which can be found here or by clicking on the Absence Form page above. This online form replaces the need to submit a written note to your child’s teacher (traditionally known as the pink form in our school). It is a quick and easy method of notifying us when your child is absent.
If you experience any difficulty submitting the form, please contact Karen in the school office.
Tipperary Parenting Supports
Please see the attached calendar of Parenting Supports in Co. Tipperary for January to March 2019. An information sheet on the programmes available is also included.
Reminder – School Closure Friday 11th January
School will be closed on Friday 11th January to facilitate planning for our School Self Evaluation process.
This year, we have identified Oral Language, specifically sentence structure, as our area of focus.
Beannachtaí na Nollag
We would like to wish everyone a happy and peaceful Christmas! It has been an extremely busy Term One and we hope everyone enjoys their well earned rest over the festive period. We hope that Santa Claus visits all the boys and girls on Christmas Eve.
Thank you to everyone in the school community; the children, staff, parents, PA Committee, Board of Management, Fr Tom and the wider local community for your hard work and dedication to the school throughout the school year. We appreciate it!
We have lots of exciting plans for Scoil Mochaomhóg Naofa for 2019 and we wish everyone in Two Mile Borris and beyond every good wish for the New Year.
PA Bake Sale
There was a great sense of excitement around the school this morning in anticipation of the PA Bake Sale. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Bake Sale. Special thanks to Anne, Michelle, Monica, Mary, AnnMarie, Rena and Marie for giving their time to our school this morning. A total of €380 was raised from the event.
MS Readathon
The MS Readathon is ongoing in the school and we would ask parents to remind their children to take home some extra books for the Mid term break. Our aim is to raise some money for people living with Multiple Sclerosis in Ireland and also that the children would read as many books as possible at home. The MS Readathon will continue until 12th November. Best of luck!!
