GP Room Transformation Update

Our GP Room is looking better each week. We are working on a whole school initiative to improve the appearance of our GP Room through displaying the wonderful work we are doing in class.

Most recently, Junior and Senior Infants created the Red Hen display while 1st and 2nd Class exhibited their 3D colour exploration work.

Check back again to see updates of the transformation.

Prayer Service

Fr Tom kindly led a Prayer Service for the staff and children in our school this morning, as part of Catholic Schools Week. We gave thanks for everyone who makes our school the active, caring community that we are all part of each day. Thank you Fr Tom for facilitating such a meaningful service.

Grandparents Day 2019

We are celebrating Catholic Schools Week in our school each day this week. We had a fantastic turnout for our annual Grandparents Day today. We welcomed in excess of 50 grandparents into our school this morning. Thank you to each and every grandparent/relation that took the time to be with us this morning. Thanks to the wonderful PA for providing refreshments for everyone at today’s event – we couldn’t do it without you!

Our wonderful team of SNAs created the beautiful ‘Remembrance Tree’ display for the grandparents who have sadly passed away and could not be with us this morning. We remember them all in our thoughts and prayers.

Online Absence Reporting Form

We encourage all parents/guardians to utilise our Online Absence Report Form which can be found here or by clicking on the Absence Form page above. This online form replaces the need to submit a written note to your child’s teacher (traditionally known as the pink form in our school). It is a quick and easy method of notifying us when your child is absent.

If you experience any difficulty submitting the form, please contact Karen in the school office.

Active Assembly

At today’s Assembly, Mr Ryan surprised the children by introducing Active Assembly. Everyone assembled on yard and exercised for five minutes. David and Tom from 6th Class directed the children through five different exercises. It was great fun!

Beannachtaí na Nollag

We would like to wish everyone a happy and peaceful Christmas! It has been an extremely busy Term One and we hope everyone enjoys their well earned rest over the festive period. We hope that Santa Claus visits all the boys and girls on Christmas Eve.

Thank you to everyone in the school community; the children, staff, parents, PA Committee, Board of Management, Fr Tom and the wider local community for your hard work and dedication to the school throughout the school year. We appreciate it!

We have lots of exciting plans for Scoil Mochaomhóg Naofa for 2019 and we wish everyone in Two Mile Borris and beyond every good wish for the New Year.

Celebrating Advent

The children and staff visited St James’ Church this afternoon to continue rehearsals for our upcoming Christmas Carol Concert. We took at moment to admire the beautiful crib on display in the church. We remember that we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ at Christmas each year. We are looking forward to our carol service on Wednesday, December 19th at 7pm in the church. We hope to see you there.

GP Room Display

We are currently working on the display areas in our GP Room. Ms Walsh’s Room completed a display for our School Ethos board in the GP Room for December. 1st and 2nd Class are hard at working learning about Advent. They created this beautiful display in the hall. Each week the children will add a flame to another candle on the display.
